Sussex County FA release details of changes to the FA Discipline Regulations

For the 2018/19 season there have been regulation amendments that clubs at Step 5 and below should be aware of.

Please see below a list of the key regulation topics ahead of the 2018/19 season, a full summary of the amendments can be found by downloading the document below:

1. Temporary Dismissals (Sin Bins) – For the 2018/19 season and 2019/20 season
2. County FA Discipline Commissions
3. Administration Fee – For non-caution offences (send offs and all misconduct cases)
4. Competition Specific Sanctions for Cautions
5. Appealing a County FA Decision
6. Mandatory Minimum Sanctions
7. Referee Reporting

Please refer to The FA or County FA handbook for the rule or regulation in its entirety and all other changes that may affect you. The Regulation Amendments are not intended to replace the Association handbook.

In addition to this, the 2018/19 Discipline Handbook will be released in due course.

Additional information has been sent to clubs from the Sussex County FA:

For your reference, pending their successful training, the following Leagues are using Sin Bins for 2018/19:

· Arun & Chichester Youth Football League
· East Sussex Foootball League
· Horsham & District Youth Football League
· Mid Sussex Football League (pilot 2017/18)
· Mid Sussex Youth & Minor Football League (pilot 2017/18)
· Southern Combination Football League (Division 2, U23s and Youth only)
· Sussex Sunday Football League
· Sussex Sunday Youth Football League

Please note we will NOT be using Sin Bins in any Sussex County FA County Cups for the 2018/19 season.

A couple of other more general, but crucial points:

· Any Player shown a Red Card is automatically suspended 7 days after the offence, even if a report from the Referee is not received in that period

· Claims of Mistaken Identity – the claim and evidence must be received by 5pm on the 3rd Business Day following the incident, even if a report from the Referee is not received in that period

· Claims of Wrongful Dismissal – the Notification of Intention to Submit a Claim must be received by the 2nd Business Day following the incident, with the evidence received by the 4th Business Day, even if a report from the Referee is not received in that period
